JUSTICE LABS OF AMERICA
(formally the Justice Lab @UW-Madison) focuses on ending racial, economic, and health disparities across the rural-urban interface.
PROJECTS
Justice Labs of America is a research and mentoring collective focused on ending/reducing racial, economic, and health disparities by critically examining the causes of spatial inequality. We offer creative solutions to address these issues that cut across the rural-urban interface. The lab uses a multi/mixed methods approach.
WRITING COLLABORATIVES
The JLA Writing Collaboratives grew out of a virtual writing space committed to supporting scholars by maintaining accountability for our writing goals. Peer mentoring and discussions of productive writing habits occur organically to help scholars advance their research agenda.
PAPERS
Our scholarship focuses on knowledge that will lead to equitable policy solutions. Although rigorous academic publications are expected, the lab should move beyond conventional academic endeavors with public facing tools and writing that informs and reframes narratives around the criminal punishment system. Our work is also from a public health, harm reduction, perspective aimed at reducing racial inequality.
